His Majesty celebrates losar with NID students

February 15: His Majesty the King today celebrated losar with the students of the Khaling National Institute of Disabled (NID). The celebration was held at the Lingkana palace.

The speaker of the National Assembly, cabinet ministers, chief of the armed forces, chairman of the National Council and the Opposition Leader offered Tashi Khadar to His Majesty the King on the occasion of the losar. His Majesty the King was celebrating the losar with the students and teachers of Khaling NID in Lingkana palace as officials offered the Tashi Khadar.

His Majesty the King granted tea and snacks to the official dignitaries and to the children of NID. The children performed a few songs dedicated to His Majesty the King.

The students and the entire teaching faculty of NID are en route to Thailand on holiday and study trip. The trip to Thailand is sponsored by His Majesty the King. His Majesty had promised the trip during the last Royal Tour to the earthquake affected Dzongkhags.

His Majesty grants audience to NCOs

Coinciding with the losar celebrations, His Majesty the King granted audience to 265 Non Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of the armed forces.

Speaking to the NCOs, His Majesty the King said, some of you have been serving the armed forces for over three decades.

His Majesty said he wanted to thank them for their service to the Nation and through them, convey his personal happiness at the manner in which the armed forces have served the people following the recent natural disasters.

His Majesty also granted lunch to the NCOs.
